How to Formatting Text in Microsoft Word

Formatting a word document which can be done by formatting text in word that can include text size, text color, case, text effects, modify for graphics and so forth. It's easy to add a creative touch to a documents with options that Microsoft Word offered.

Modifying Fonts in Microsoft office word

Font Group features allows you to change the text font style, size, color and other elements how to do it?
  • Highlight the text you wish to modify.
  • Click on the drop-down font style and font size and select the changes you want made.
When text is highlighted, the format changes can be done for example clicking on the color, bold, italics or underline command to modify the text even more.
Change Text Case 

Changing selected text in the document by clicking a single button called Change Case. How to change text case in word document?

To change text case just perform as follow:
  • Highlight the text you want to change.
  • On the Home tab, section Font group, click Change Case.
  • Select an option from the drop down list, which includes Sentence case, lowercase, uppercase, Capitalize Each Word and Toggle Case

Adding text effects:
  • Select the text you want to add effects.
  • On the Home tab, section Font group, click Text Effects.
  • Click on the desired effect.

For more options, point to Outline, Shadow, Reflection or Glow, and then click the effect you want to add.

Deleting text effects 
  • Select the text you want to delete the effect.
  • On the Home tab, Font group section, click Clear Formatting.
Format Painter

Format Painter feature allows to quickly copy an existing format. How to do format painter feature?
  • Select the text or image that has formatted you want to copy.
  • On the Home tab, section Clipboard group, click Format Painter. Pointer will turn into a brush icon.
  • Move the cursor to a text or graphic you want formatted and click on the text.
  • To stop formatting, press ESC or click on the Format Painter command again.
NOTE: doing Double-click at the Format Painter button if you want to change the format of multiple choice in your document

Clear Formatting feature 

To get rid of all of the styles, text effects, and fonts in a document format, do the following:
  • Select the text you want to delete the format. Or press CTRL + A to select everything in the document.
  • On the Home tab, Font group section, click Clear Formatting.
NOTE: Clear all Formatting command will not remove the highlighting of the text. For remove the highlighting, select the highlighted text, and then click the arrow next, Highlight Text Color and click No Color.
