Things to Think About when Doing Something

When doing something, someone should not let his mind empty, but always think of everything that is good. The human brain has the ability to think more than one thing at the same time. A person who was driving the car, clean the house, work for a living, walking on the highway, at the same time can be able to think the things that are good.

When someone cleaning the house, he was grateful to God for giving facilities such as water and detergents. Aware that God loved the cleanliness and the person who cleans himself, he looked at the job he is doing as a form of worship so that by doing these works he expects the pleasure of Allah. In addition, he was happy because it has been preparing for a comfortable place for others by clean up their homes.

Someone who is doing something, constantly prayed to God and begged to be facilitated in their work, because he believe that he could not do a good job without the help of God.

We know in the Qur'an that the Prophet Muhammad gave an example to us by continually exposes him self to God in solitude, and always remember to God when working or doing something. Among this example is Moses. He helped two women who met on the way. After helping give drink to their animals, he prays to God:

And when he came to the water of Madyan, he found on it a group of men watering, and he found besides them two women keeping back (their flocks). He said: What is the matter with you? They said: We cannot water until the shepherds take away (their sheep) from the water, and our father is a very old man. So he watered (their sheep) for them, then went back to the shade and said: My Lord! surely I stand in need of whatever good Thou mayest send down to me. (Al-Qasas, 28: 23-24)

Another example that we find in the Qur'an with regard to this issue is Abraham and Ishmael. God tells us that these two prophet is thinking about the benefit or goodness of the believers who else at a time when both are doing their work or job. They pray to Him in connection with the work they are doing:

And when Ibrahim and Ismail raised the foundations of the House: Our Lord! accept from us; surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing: Our Lord! and make us both submissive to Thee and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to Thee, and show us our ways of devotion and turn to us (mercifully), surely Thou art the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. Our Lord! and raise up in them a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thy communications and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them; surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise. (Al-Baqarah, 2: 127-129)
